Randolph Rage 10U Softball Sweeps At Sparta WarmUp Tournament


The Randolph Rage Blue 10 & Under Girls Fastpitch Travel Softball Team won all three of their games at the Sparta Warm Up Tournament, held on April 22.

In Game 1, Randolph faced off against the Vernon Vikings. Hannah Bermudez pitched a shutout, allowing just 1 hit and 3 walks while striking out 10 batters over 4 innings, and the Rage rolled to a 17-0 win. Lizzy Morgievich had a huge game, clearing the bases with a three-run triple in the 2nd inning. On the day, Lizzy went 4-for-6 with two triples, a double, a single, two walks, and 7 RBIs. Lindsey Kudriavetz singled in the 3rd inning, the first of her 5 RBIs in the tournament. Rebecca Dasti walked and scored in all three of her plate appearances, and Allie Chupak had a single and two walks in her three plate appearances, scoring each time.

In the second game, Randolph took on the Sparta White Diamonds. Aishlyn Cassells blanked the White Diamonds over 5 innings, giving up just 2 hits and 5 walks while striking out 11, and Randolph won 10-0. Madison Molina doubled to knock in a run, one of her three hits and three RBIs in the tournament. Keira Ferraro made an outstanding play behind the plate, pouncing on a bunt to throw out a runner, and Katie Gilligan, batting lead off, set the table by walking all three times she came up.

In the finale, Randolph was matched up against the Verona Barnstormers. Madeline Garretson threw a 1-hitter while striking out 11 batters in 5 innings. She also blasted a triple, capping a perfect 3-for-3 day at the plate that included 4 RBIs, as the Rage won 11-3. Autumn Liebhauser had two hits and knocked in two runs, and Samantha Niewiarowski walked and scored in her two plate appearances.

The Rage have a home game on Thursday, May 4, at 6 p.m. at Freedom Park against the Berkeley Heights Heat. Later in the season they will host the Rockaway Rampage at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, at Brundage Field #4; the Roxbury Rebels at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, at Brundage Field #4; the Mt. Olive Marauders at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 14, at Brundage Field #4; and the Lenape Blazers at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, on Brundage Field #4.
