Randolph Residents Support Homeless Solutions in Gran Fondo

Morristown, NJ  – The Homeless Solutions cycling team, “Riding for Homes”, participated in another successful Gran Fondo NJ in Morristown on Sunday, Sept 13.  Randolph residents were a big part of the 31 member team, including team captain Steve Trozinski, who shared this about his participation.

“For me, the annual Gran Fondo is so much more meaningful because we are all out there for more than just a great day riding. We are helping Homeless Solutions make Morris County a better place to live for everyone. So every year when I put on the Homeless Solutions jersey and line up for the start, I think about the people that contributed to my fund raising for HSI, and the people we are going to help. And remembering that gives me a little push up some of the hills!”

So far the team has raised $24,000 of its $30,000 goal, and as one of the event’s non-profit beneficiaries, Homeless Solutions will also receive a financial donation from the Gran Fondo NJ organization.   The funds raised will go towards refurnishing the ten apartments at our transitional housing facility, specifically bunk beds for the kids.

The Gran Fondo NJ offers some of the most beautiful and challenging cycling terrain on the east coast. It’s perfect for cyclists of all abilities with four routes – 107, 62, 42, & 18 miles. The 62-mile Medio route was named by the editors of Bicycling Magazine to their list of "The 50 Best Rides in America."  It’s a wonderful event, and HSI is honored to be a part of it.

Homeless Solutions offer  “Sincere thanks to everyone who helped to make this amazing event such a success – Event Organizers Marty Epstein (of Marty’s Reliable Cycle) and Bill Ruddick, our “Riding for Homes” team members, our sponsors – Moretrench and Trainers Edge, team jersey designer Olivia Ford, and our awesome volunteers who did everything from working at the event to hosting the pre-ride pasta party.”
