WYCKOFF, NJ – Randolph schools superintendent David Browne, on family medical leave from his position since early Sept., was injured Tuesday afternoon in a garage fire at his home, according to published reports.
Browne, 55, was found on the ground outside the burning garage when firefighters responded to the incident at about 2:45 p.m., said the reports, citing a news release issued by Wyckoff Police Chief Benjamin Fox. Browne’s injuries were not considered to be life-threatening, according to the reports which said he was taken for treatment to Hackensack University Medical Center.
In his statement, the police chief said Brown’s “garage and its contents were destroyed,” according to the reports. However, Fox reportedly said Brown’s house was not damaged.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
