RANDOLPH, NJ- Randolph High School musicians Kelly Sun, Chris Mantell and Matthew Rosenblatt performed with the New Jersey All-State Band at NJPAC on February 20 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark.

Kelly played the clarinet in the prestigious All-State Symphonic Band, Matthew the trumpet and Christopher the baritone saxophone. The All-State Band is a very selective group of the most talented band musicians in the state.

RHS Band Director Dawn Russo said the students successfully auditioned for the region band and were then able to audition for the prestigious All-State group. Only 160 high school musicians were selected for the All-State Symphonic Band and the All-State Wind Ensemble. The 160 students spent a full weekend in East Brunswick rehearsing before the February 20 concert.

"Selection into one of these bands if a huge honor, a lot of work and a testament to their dedication to music," Russo said.
