RANDOLPH,NJ- Sixth-grader Brian Li was this year's winner of the RMS Geography Bee that took place on Jan. 7.
This is the 25th year RMS participated in the Geography Bee, sponsored by the National Geographic Society. The competition was held in RMS’s auditorium; all eighth-grade classes and select seventh-grade classes attended.
Twelve students competed. They were the top scorers of the preliminary qualifying contest previously given in all of the social studies classes. Representing RMS were the following student contestants: Chris Nessel, Stephen Hu, John Crane, Alex Wang, Regina McElroy, Justin Linz, Ajay Hariharan, Tommy Yager, Jason Gu, Daniel Kim, and Romir Patel.
The competition was rigorous as student contestants fought for the top position. Eighth-grader Alex Wang was the first runner up.
