Randolph, NJ – The Randolph Middle School Student Government Association is excited to invite all incoming 2016-2017 6th graders and current RMS students to participate in student run after-school activities sponsored by the Student Government Association (SGA).
The SGA is made up of student elected representatives from each homeroom at RMS in addition to officers from each grade level. The SGA is an outstanding opportunity for middle school students who have a desire to use their voice to make a positive contribution to their school and surrounding community, while developing lifelong leadership skills.
The SGA students, working with RMS teachers Jessica Zschack and Ryan Hallock as advisors, have the responsibility of planning and managing the activities for the year, communicating these activities with all of the students and involving as many classmates as possible. Developing a spirit of partnership and co-operation among the SGA, Principal, Teachers, PTO and Community is promoted and encouraged.
Some examples of the activities the SGA has been successfully involved in include a Halloween Dance, Community Food Drive, Fundraising Events, Soccer Tournament, Spirit Week, Winter Dance, Basketball Tournament and 8th Grade vs. Staff Softball Game. "Participating in these events gives students the opportunity to be a part of the RMS community in a different way. The activities allow students to hang out with friends outside of the classroom and participate in different activities. We also encourage RMS students to get involved and have a say in what happens at their school," expressed Jessica Zschack, Co-Advisor.
