RANDOLPH, NJ- The Randolph boys’ tennis team is enjoying very successful spring season in 2015. Their 8-2 record includes an impressive win over perennial power Delbarton, by a 4-1 margin, and a shut out of virtually everyone else they have faced.
The Rams two losses came at the hands of 14th-ranked Dwight-Englewood, and a closely fought 3-2 loss to 9th ranked Holmdel.
Since the Holmdel loss, the Rams have ripped off five straight victories, each by a shutout margin of 5-0.
The team is powered by the success and leadership of First Singles player Mitchel Sanders, who has posted a 7-1 record this season. Second Singles player Justin gold has backed up Sanders with his own equally impressive record of 8-1 on the season.
The Rams have risen to the top spot in the North Jersey Interscholastic Conference rankings, one place ahead of Delbarton, and are currently ranked 17th in the state.
On Tuesday night, April 21, the seeds for the Morris County Tournament will be announced. the Rams expect to hear their name called near, or at the top of the seedings. The tournament will be held at CCM on Saturday and Sunday April 25 and 26. From top to bottom, Randolph may have their best lineup yet to possibly win their first ever team MCT Championship.
