MORRISTOWN, NJ: Although the 39th Annual Morristown CraftMarket has always been sponsored and run by the Kiwanis Club of Randolph to raise monies for local charities, the Randolph Kiwanis is not the only one raising monies for charity this year. Sergio Burani, one of 160 artisans that will be participating in the show this weekend, will be raising money to support a charity that is near and dear to his heart.
A Man on a Mission
Sergio Burani, founder of Photos by Sergio, is a Travel Photographer who has a passion for capturing images of people and places all over the world. After graduating from the County College of Morris with a degree in photo technology, Sergio had a desire to start his own business. Having retired as a business executive that had traveled the world, he saw the need firsthand to help those less fortunate. Sergio decided a philanthropic business was the direction he wanted to take. He started looking for causes he could support and came across Africa Surgery, a not for profit that was founded by Tom Johnson.
Africa Surgery is a non-profit organization that uses 100% of its donations to provide health care and surgical services to needy children and adults in Sierra Leone. After spending time with Tom in Sierra Leone, Sergio knew Africa Surgery would be the charity he supported. “The selflessness and good work of Tom Johnson under extremely difficult conditions is what led me to support Africa Surgery with my craft,” said Sergio. To learn more about Africa Surgery, please visit their website at www.africasurgery.org. This weekend, all sales from Photos by Sergio will be donated to Africa Surgery. Sergio can be found in Booth 439.
