RANDOLPH, NJ- The critically lauded Randolph High School and Middle School Jazz Ensembles invite you to attend the 43rd Annual Jazz Concert on Thursday, May 25.  Showtime 7pm.  Admission $10, Children under 8 free.

  This year’s guest artist is Alto Saxophonist Jim Snidero who has been called an "alto sax virtuoso" and "master musician" (Downbeat), as well as a "genuinely significant figure in jazz composition" (Penguin Guide to Jazz).

 The concert will feature performances by the RMS Jazz Ensemble, the Millbrook Quintet, and both RHS Jazz Ensembles.

 Students in Randolph’s Jazz Ensembles have been racking up individual awards over the past year. At Jazz@Lincoln Center’s Essentially Ellington Regional Festival, Jazz Ensemble members Frank Zhang, Jonathan Ceballos, Sabrina LaBold and Shane Ebneth were recognized as outstanding soloists and awarded scholarships to attend Summer Jazz Camp at Newark Academy.  

 More individual performance awards from jazz ensemble members include Senior Frank Zhang being recognized as the Mayo Performing Arts Center’s Pianist of the Month.  Senior John Yager being recognized as the Mayo Performing Arts Center’s Jazz Musician of the Month. Sophomore Paul Ward being recognized as the Mayo Performing Arts Center’s Bassist of the Month. Senior Michael DeMelfi and Middle Schooler Paul Recchia were recognized as the Mayo Performing Arts Center’s Band Members of the Month. Middle School student Spencer Gaffney was recognized as the Mayo Performing Arts Center’s Percussionist of the Month.
