RANDOLPH, NJ- The 2018 Randolph Men’s Masters Softball Champion was crowned on July 30 at Brundage Park. That champion was no stranger to the title - The NJ Bar & Grill (The BAG), who took their fourth title in the last five years (and their seventh in the past 12 years) by defeating Main Street Marketing.
Completing the regular season with a 12-4 record, good enough for the 2nd seed, The BAG defeated 11th Hour Rescue, BMW of Springfield and Main Street Marketing and stayed in the winner’s bracket in the double elimination playoff format, while they waited to see who they’d play in the finals.
Main Street Marketing entered the finals needing to beat The BAG twice to become champion. In their first finals match up, Main Street Marketing edged out The BAG 11-8 to force a decisive game two, winner take all Championship. As with many of the games between these two rivals, it was close and contested throughout, but The BAG held on for a 12-8 victory.
The BAG had previously won titles in 2007, 2009, 2011, 2014, 2015 and 2016.
