RANDOLPH, NJ - Do you need to drop off a license plate? In the past, drivers would wait in lines to drop them off inside the DMV but now, there are convenient license plate drop boxes at The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission.

Drop your license plate off at the following locations and commission officials will mail a receipt to your address on record.

  • Edison
  • Flemington
  • Freehold
  • Hazlet (only accessible during operating hours)
  • Lakewood 
  • Lodi
  • Manahawkin
  • Medford
  • Newark (only accessible during operating hours)
  • Newton
  • North Bergen
  • Oakland (only accessible during operating hours)
  • Paterson (only accessible during operating hours)
  • Rio Grande
  • Rahway 
  • Randolph
  • Runnemede
  • Salem
  • Somerville
  • South Brunswick
  • South Plainfield (only accessible during operating hours)
  • Springfield
  • Toms River
  • Turnersville (only accessible during operating hours)
  • Vineland (only accessible during operating hours)
  • Washington (only accessible during operating hours)
  • Wayne
  • West Deptford (only accessible during operating hours)

According to officials, Wayne and Lodi Licensing Centers are closed due to an employee testing positive to COVID-19. The Wayne Licensing Center will be closed until Friday, November 27. The Lodi Licensing Center will be closed until December 3.
