RANDOLPH, NJ- A Winter Weather Advisory has been posted for the northern half of NJ inclusive of Morris County. The advisory is in place from 6 p.m. Sunday until 6 a.m. on Tuesday. Rain will change to freezing rain around 8-10 p.m. Sunday evening generally from north to south. Freezing rain will continue through 8-10 a.m. Monday at which point the freezing rain will change to snow/sleet. There is a chance that freezing rain won't change to snow/sleet until midday.
Snow/sleet will continue through 5-7 a.m. Tuesday. With temperatures hovering near or just below freezing, the timing of the freezing rain remains somewhat uncertain.
Precipitation amounts: Snow/sleet: 1-4", heaviest in western portion of Morris. The main concern is the ice.
Randolph Township Schools already have a scheduled delayed opening due to Professional Development, but that was officially cancelled on Sunday evening, and the schools are CLOSED as per an early announcement Monday morning. Any additional changes will be updated here.
