RANDOLPH, NJ- The National Weather Services reports that heavy mixed precipitation possible tonight but the storm will become mainly a snow event Wednesday,

Total snow accumulations of 8 to 14 inches are expected in portions of northern New Jersey.

This weather event will last from 6 p.m. this evening to 2 a.m. Thursday. Snow mixed with sleet and freezing rain at times will develop this afternoon and especially this evening, then change to all snow overnight and continue heavy at times Wednesday.

The snow will taper off Wednesday evening. Roads especially in the  hilly areas may become impassable if 1 to 3 inches per hour snowfall rates develop as expected Wednesday afternoon. Power outages are possible. Northeast to north winds should gust 20 to 30 mph at times.

The Randolph Board of Education will be meeting tonight at 8 pm, and will discuss and vote how “emergency days” will be made up for Randolph Township Schools. Currently, the suggestion will be to take the last days away from Spring break.
