MORRISTOWN, NJ – School is not yet out for the summer, but coaches, athletic trainers and others involved in school athletics throughout the state were already prepping for next season at the annual Summer Sports Medicine Seminar from Atlantic Sports Health and the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association on Thursday, June 14. Hosted at Atlantic Sports Health’s Morristown location, at 111 Madison Avenue.  The seminar began with presentations on concussion by Atlantic Sports Health’s Damion Martins, MD, and Dean Padavan, MD, before turning to discussions on athletes’ mental health, wrestling medicine, sports hernia and cardiac screening guidelines, in addition to updates from the NJSIAA.

Martins noted the importance of the role of official sports medicine partner of the NJSIAA, one of Atlantic Sports Health’s many strategic partnerships.

"As a member of the Sports Medicine Advisory Committee, our decisions affect the lives of more than 4.5 million high school athletes in New Jersey,” Martins noted. “I am most proud of the work we have done educating New Jersey’s athletes, parents, athletic trainers and the approximately 300,000 coaches in our communities. Through the vision and support of Atlantic Health System we are touching many lives in very positive ways."
