RANDOLPH, NJ- This fall, Chabad of Randolph will host a safeTALK workshops for their local CTeen chapter. SafeTALK, a two- and half-hour suicide alertness and prevention training is an innovative workshop that provides participants with tools, knowledge, and awareness to assist their peers who may struggle with thoughts of suicide. The workshop will be presented by Leigh Hershkovich, certified SafeTalk trainer and Creative Director at CTeen International.
“I believe educators need to be continually educated on how to best support their community during crisis,” shared Chava Bekhor, Co-Director of Chabad of Randolph. “Today’s teens are tomorrow’s leaders and it’s important to provide them with life skills that will shape the kind of leaders they become.”
The workshop will provide participants with skills to recognize signs of suicidal thoughts in their friends, peers, and community members. All participants will receive a certificate upon completion.
Two events will be taking place:
Adults: Monday, October 28th from 7-9:30pm
Teens: Sunday, November 3rd from 11am-1:30pm
