RANDOLPH, NJ- Ironia Elementary celebrated Veteran’s Day by inviting relatives of Ironia students to be recognized in a special assembly. The honored guests represented all 5 branches of the Armed Services: Army, Navy, Air Force, and the Marine Corp. They were treated to performances by all of our students who sang patriotic songs which included the 4th and 5th grade choirs singing “A Grateful Nation.”
Ironia also hosted a special speaker. Command Sergeant Major Anneka M. Ford grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas, and enlisted in the Army in 1995. She has been deployed to Kosovo, Iraq, and Kuwait and has many awards which include a Bronze Star Medal and the Finance Corps Major General Nathan Towson Medallion. She spoke with our students about her service in the military and answered students’ questions about her experience in the Army.
Ironia’s recognition is one of many happening across the district to honor our veterans. Randolph is incredibly grateful for armed service members and veterans.
