RANDOLPH, NJ- The Annual Randolph PTO Council Fundraiser featuring New Jersey’s legendary cover band The Nerds, was once again a rocking success as the sold out event saw over 500 people join the fun on Fri. April 5.
Now in its 33rd year, this fundraising event will have a positive impact on the Randolph School system. Some of the funds will be used to support Cultural Arts programs at each Randolph school, scholarships to graduating seniors, the district faculty back to school breakfast, ice cream parties for Transitions house students, Pre-School grants, Project Graduation, and many more enrichment activities for the students and staff. Over $20,000 was raised at this years event.
Once again, John Herold ( Owner of Randolph’s John Herold Jewlers ) donated the first place “Grand Prize” for the raffle drawing, a 3.5 carat diamond tennis bracelet won by Donna Petitto. Herold has generously been donating a custom designed and handmade piece of jewelry for the grand prize for numerous years.
A $1500 VISA gift card donated by American Animal Hospital was the second place prize, won by Lori Levy
Third place Winner of a $750 gift certificate to Paradise Total Spa & Nails was Beth Jones.

“The Randolph PTO Council would like to thank all our Grand Raffle sponsors as well as our program sponsors, Zeek Plumbing and Sawyer - Lyons Buick & GMC, along with every local business and family that contributed to the event,” said Jennifer Gangi, the event chairperson. “We are so fortunate to live in a town that has the full support of the town council, the Board of Education, the Superintendents office and each individual school Building.”
Gangi, along with Stacy Gellert, ( Co-Chair and Vice President of the Council ) offered thanks to Dolly Alley, Council Treasurer, for her efforts in making the financial transactions safe and accountable. Thank you’s were also extended to Kristin Sullivan and Darcy Mantone who handled all the reservations and table assignments. With 500+ people in attendance, that certainly was no small task.
“Finally a thank you to each of our schools PTO Presidents and their representatives for their assistance in making the event such a success,” said Gangi. “RHS ran the Instant Raffle, RMS oversaw the invitations and volunteers, Center Grove handled the Wine Pull, Fernbrook coordinated the Solicitation of prizes for our raffle baskets, Ironia ran the 50/50 raffle and Shongum orchestrated the amazing Basket Room.
Gellert added, “It truly takes the efforts of hundreds of volunteer hours and dozens of volunteers to pull this type of successful event off.”
Baumwoll Orthodontics, CKO Kickboxing, Astute Academics, and Pediatric Dental Associates were among the many Randolph based businesses who generously donated tricky tray baskets, offering their services to lucky winners.
