RANDOLPH, NJ- Sophie Owens finished her last day serving students in the cafeteria at Randolph Township Schools December 20.

Owens was born in Poland and fled to France during World War II. She came to America when she was 19 and became a U.S. citizen. She settled in Clifton, NJ later moving to Randolph where she has lived for the past 53 years. Sophie has served the faculty and students in Randolph for over 40 years starting her career at Fernbrook in 1972, and then joining Randolph High School. She is a huge Rams Football fan and you can find her cheering at all the home games. 

When asked what she loves most about Randolph and what advice she would give to others she said, "I enjoy being with the children and the teachers. I encourage everyone to be their self and to be polite. That's how I have always lived my life."
