MORRISTOWN, NJ- Several community groups which make up the Diversity Coalition of Morris County have partnered together to develop the second Diversity Day to be held on the Morristown Green, July 14, 2019, beginning at 11 am. Diversity Day is a new initiative that celebrates the diverse cultural, religious, and ethnic gifts of your neighbors who live and work in the Morristown community.
There will be an interfaith service of worship to which all are invited at 11:00 am followed by an afternoon of music and entertainment, and a sampling of local and international food prepared jointly by the various organizations which make up our Diversity Day committee. During this time, a variety of performers will be on stage sharing their talents.
The event committee is seeking talents including dancers, musicians, singers, poets, and artists. Those interested are asked to email Cali Woods at email@example.com , and submit a short, two-minute video of your performance. Please contact Beverly Tignor at firstname.lastname@example.org or Franz Owens at email@example.com with any questions.
The following organizations are working together to help make this day possible: Atlantic Health, Bethel AME Church, the Boyscouts of America, Centrobiblico of New Jersey, Church of God in Christ for All Saints, Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, Church of the Redeemer, Congregation Adath Shalom, Cornerstone Family Programs & Neighborhood House, Dover-Randolph Quaker Meeting, Islamic Society of Basking Ridge, MAYO Performing Arts Center, Morristown Albanian Church, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Mt Freedom Jewish Center, Morristown Jewish Center, Morris School District, Morristown United Methodist Church, Presbyterian Church in Morristown, Saint Margaret of Scotland Church, NAACP Morris County branch #2902, National Council of Jewish Women-West Morris Section, Romani Culture, Sound of Success, Unitarian Fellowship, RAMP (Refugee Assistance Morris Partners), and Wind of the Spirit.
