RANDOLPH, NJ- At approximately 9:18 on Monday July 29, the Randolph Fire Department was dispatched to 203 Dover Chester Rd for a reported structure fire. Fire Units responded quickly, and the first arriving chief confirmed a fire in a one story private residence.
According to Department representatives, "Upon confirmation of a working fire, the incident commander requested a working fire dispatch and a 2nd alarm, which brought mutual aid resources from the Netcong Fire Department and Chester Fire Department, as well as the Randolph Rescue Squad."
A statement released by the Department stated, "Initial crews deployed multiple hose lines and gained access to the residence where they found fire on the main level and the rear exterior of the home. The fire was quickly extinguished, and the incident was brought under control in approximately 45 minutes. Crews remained on scene for just under 3 hours to complete ventilation, overhaul, and a check for hidden fire."
The residents were home at the time of the incident and evacuated with no injuries. Due to the smoke and heat damage, the residence will not be able to be reoccupy the home at this time. They staying with family and friends in the area.
There were also no reported injuries to first responders or civilians. The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time. Any additional inquiries should be forwarded to the Randolph Police Dept.
