RANDOLH, NJ- Randolph Senior pitcher Emily Spingarn signed her National Letter of Intent to play softball at the University of Rhode Island in the fall of 2020.
Spingarn chose URI because she “met with the coaches and it was a really good fit both academically and athletically.” Emily also noted that she really loved the campus and area.
Playing for Randolph, Spingarn became well-prepared to play softball at the collegiate level. She said, “I learned a lot about hard work and perseverance. I’ve learned never to get complacent or comfortable where I am because someone somewhere is working twice as hard as you if you do.”
When Emily graduates from Randolph High School, she said “I’m going to miss my teammates and coaches.”
Emily is still unsure what she will study at URI, however she thinks that something in the business field will be her area of study.
Her family has been extremely supportive throughout the recruiting process. “I can’t thank my parents enough,” Spingarn said, “The countless hours that I put into it they did too. They drive me everywhere for practices and games, they helped me visit colleges and pushed me to practice and focus on my academics at the same time. I couldn’t have done this without their unwavering support through the entire process.”
