RANDOLPH, NJ- Little League baseball held their annual fan appreciation night on Friday June 3rd at Freedom Park.  Fuddrucker’s once again sponsored the food, catering free hot dogs and hamburgers to the large crowd of family and friends of the players.

The evening entertainment consisted of two All-Star games, in which over 60 kids participated in, followed by the annual Home Run Derby.

The All-Star games were coached by Dave Tamres, Patrick McDermott, Steve Wigdor, and Matt Bibbo.  These games are part of a fun tradition, and they lived up to the fun hype they create year after year.  The graduating 12 year olds also received trophies for their years of participation in Little League.

The Home Run Derby was quite a show, and ended with Joe Reed as the champion.  Second place was Paul Recchia, and in 3rd place, just days off of a season long injury, was Matia Clement.   All three are part of the Randolph West 12U All Star team.

Playoffs begin Wednesday June 8.  As of Saturday June 5 there were a few games left in the season, and in the East the Marlins were in first place clinging to a half game lead over the Mets.  In the West, the A’s were in first place, with the Astro’s a very close second.
