RED BANK, NJ: The Navesink Maritime Heritage Association is inviting families and kids 12 and over to help build wooden canoes.
This outside event takes place at its Grover House headquarters, 930 West Front Street, Red Bank, NJ on Saturday and Sunday, September 26 and 27. (Note: physical location is in Middletown),
Boat building starts at 8:00am and runs through 5:00pm each day.
You’ll start on Saturday with two flat sheets of plywood and be paddling on the Navesink River on Sunday afternoon!

How it Works
You can join a team or bring your own team!
Teams will consist of 4-5 adults and kids 12 and over and includes one experienced instructor. Teams will be determined depending upon the number and ages of the attendees.
All teams should participate in both days so that their boat can be completely built.
Materials, tools, and skilled help will be on hand
Cost: $20 per person and includes breakfast and a BBQ lunch for both days.
Don’t forget your mask and social distancing requirements be observed.
