RED BANK, NJ – The second annual Red Bank 5K Classic will take place this Saturday, June 15th, in downtown Red Bank with more than 1,000 runners and walkers at the starting line.

The Classic 5K is a USA Track and Field sanctioned race and certified course, as well as a USATF 2019 Grand Prix Event.

The weather looks perfect for the 5K race; reports call for partly sunny with a cool morning of 66 degrees for the start.

The race is the combined efforts of the Red Bank Business Alliance and the Red Bank RiverCenter and is supported by over 60 local businesses.  Proceeds from the race benefit the youth programs at the Red Bank Family YMCA and the Red Bank Department of Parks and Recreation.

The big picture reflects that Red Bank is becoming a health and wellness business center and showcases the thriving variety of businesses.

There’s a fun run for the kids after the 5K, and vendors and a variety of healthcare related activities will be found at Marine Park.

Kids Run Warm-up:        9:50am, Broad Street, hosted by the Red Bank Family Y

Kids Broad Street Dash:  10:00am, Broad Street at corner of Monmouth Street

Awards Presentation:      10:00am, Marine Park

Post Party: Red Rock Tap + Grill

It’s going to be a great time.  Watch the runners stretch before the race, the little kids running 200-yard, 100-yard and 50-yard dashes, kayaking on the Navesink River, food trucks and live music.
