RED BANK, NJ: The Red Bank Regional Theater Company is presenting “Moby Dick Rehearsed,” a play written by Orson Welles, that was originally first staged in London, 1955.
Directed by Reuben Jackson, this interpretation brings to life Orson Welles’ imaginative adaptation of the well-known book.
From the depths of Melville’s imagination to the hearts and minds of the young cast, this production provides a new interpretation of one of the greatest American novels of all time.
"Audience members will find it unique that this play is set in a theatre in New York City in 1910, during a rehearsal for King Lear. The audience gets to experience what happens when the theatre company decides to stop rehearsal and begin to work on a staged adaptation of Moby Dick,” said Director Reuben Jackson.
Captain Ahab will be played by Lucie Chantepie, as she struggles with her past and manipulates her sailors into executing her plan but it doesn’t turn out as she expects.
