RED BANK, NJ: Local filmmaker Jeffrey Delano Davis recently completed a year-long festival run for his short film "Three Sonnets."
The film won a filmmaking award at the Nassau Film Festival in Princeton, New Jersey. It was an official selection at the Monmouth Film Festival, the Village of Brewster Film Festival, and the prestigious Soho International Film Festival in New York City. The screenplay for "Three Sonnets" won "Best Screenplay" at the Oregon Short Film Festival, and was nominated for “Best Screenplay” at the Reno International Film Festival.
"Three Sonnets" is about an actor fighting for his marriage when he takes an out of town gig three days before his wife's due date. "I never got kicked out of the house, thankfully, but I certainly get the tensions Jeremy feels in "Three Sonnets." It's not easy balancing life and art." said Mr. Davis.
Mr. Davis recently completed a short animated screenplay. "I hope to be in production by the summer of 2020. My new script targets 6-11-year-olds and addresses the need for inclusion and diversity in public schools, a topic that was partly inspired by my daughter's journey in the Red Bank Public Schools."
Mr. Davis lives with his wife Maria and his young daughters Josephine and Vera. "Three Sonnets" is available for streaming on Amazon and will be distributed on DirecTV by Shorts TV. You can find out more about the film at www.threesonnetsmovie.com.
