TYCLD raises community awareness about the importance of the library in the life of a child.

Lynn Humphrey, who is the Cultural Center’s Research-Archivist-Librarian will engage the children in fun activities to include: creating decorative bookmarks, introducing them to historical figures in graphic novels and to authors like Jaqueline Woodson, who is a favorite among young readers (8 years old and up).

Humphrey, the doting grandmother of three, is active in her community and volunteering for various organizations annually.  She is delighted to have this international literacy initiative come to the Cultural Center.

Lynn is a believer in the quote: “Books are the path to the universe.”
