NEW JERSEY --- Candidates seeking to represent the 4th Congressional District in the House of Representatives will face each other virtually at on upcoming forum hosted by The League of Women Voters (LWV) Monmouth County Chapter. TAPinto will be the media sponsor for the event.
The 4th Congressional District spans from Hamilton Township and Robbinsville in Mercer County across 35 towns in Monmouth County, and eight towns in Ocean County. On Election Day, November 3, voters in the District will chose one congressional representative from among incumbent Republican Congressman Chris Smith and challengers Stephanie Schmid, Democrat; Hank Schroeder, Make Change Happen; Andrew Pachuta, Common Sense Party; and Michael J. Rufo, Libertarian Party.
“The League has found that the candidate forums are a popular and important way for voters to see and hear from the candidates themselves.” Peggy Dellinger, Co-President of LWV of Monmouth County.
The forum will be held virtually to ensure that voters can hear from the candidates while not gathering in a large group during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The online LWV candidate forum will be held beginning at 7:00 pm on October 8. Pre-registration is required by CLICKING HERE.
Residents of the congressional district can submit questions for the candidates when registering. Alternatively, questions can be submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org with CD-4 in the subject line. Questions also will be generated by TAPinto Hamilton/Robbinsville editor Elizabeth Meyers.
The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization committed to fair candidate forums. A trained League moderator who lives outside of the voting area will preside over the forum.
