RED BANK, NJ: On Monday, April 15th and Monday April 22, The Woman's Club of Red Bank hosted Lunchbreak's Annual Prom Giveaway! The Lunchbreak volunteers were on site to help the teens choose their gowns to try on, match the accessories, find the shoes... Walgreens was onsite to provide free makeovers and makeup samples. There were seamstresses available to make any  alterations. Lunchbreak covered every detail to make sure the teens had everything they needed to say YES to that special gown or suit!

TAPinto Holmdel, Colts Neck and Middletown Readers donated over 300 gowns, plus 32 suits, 28 men's dress/tux shirts, various shoes (including a pair of brand new in the box burgundy velvet never worn Manolo Blahnik pumps), hand bags and accessories... The gowns were spectacular, in nearly brand new condition and many of our readers donated gowns with the tags on, never worn...YOU made a difference in the lives of so many teens!

A BIG thank you to TAPinto sponsors of local news, who kindly collected the donations for the Lunchbreak Prom Drive from our TAPinto readers. A shout out of thanks to the following businesses for hosting the collection:

It's not over yet though, now LunchBreak takes their gowns and suits on the road for onsite giveaways.

First stop is Asbury Park High School, then off to Gateway Day Treatment Center in Tinton Falls....Ocean Township Library and more... The giving continues! TAPinto stopped by the April 22nd giveaway where over 50 teens chose their prom selections. TAPinto met and spoke with the teens there who all found that perfect dress or tux/suit! Sara commented, "I wasn't sure what to expect, I found the perfect prom dress and my date is getting a like-new tux, a new shirt and I was able to choose a second dress for a friend. I also received a free makeover and tips on how to do my eye makeup for prom. I feel beautiful and everyone here was so nice. They make you feel really special. Like they are excited for us to go to prom. If it wasn't for this program I would not be going to prom." It was a beautiful event. Castle Couture of Manalapan donated 52 brand new gowns in vibrant colors, and Bob from Shrewsbury Tuxedo donated a full car load of men's tux shoes, tuxedos and brand new tux shirts still in the packaging.

There were a lot of smiles!
