What is Mahjong?

A Chinese game played, usually by four people, with 136 or 144 rectangular pieces called tiles.  The object is to collect winning sets of these tiles, as in card games such as gin rummy.

What is the Goal of Mahjong?

The goal of each player is to win the game by being the first person to declare "Mahjong" by correctly creating a hand that exactly matches a hand on the score card.  The excitement begins as each player tries to improve her hand.  Since East has 14 tiles, she starts the game by discarding a tile.

What are the rules for Mahjong?

General Rules of Mahjong. The objective of the game is to collect tiles to form a Mahjong hand.  Players take turns picking one tile from the wall and discarding one tile.  When a player picks up a tile that gives a valid Mahjong hand, the player wins.

This is a drop-in event, no registration or prior experience required.

So, if your new to Mahjong, come on out and learn and meet friends new and old.
