RED BANK, NJ: The last council meeting for 2019 was held last night and it was short and sweet.
The public comments (agenda items only), portion of the meeting was first up with Dr. Frederick Stone, President of Red Bank Borough Public School Board and David Pascale, Chairman of the Human Relations Advisory Committee supporting a borough resolution that will create the “Complete Count Committee” to ensure a full and accurate count of the upcoming U.S. Census Bureau population count. Dr. Stone read a resolution from the school board in support of the committee.
Pascale said they will be getting together with stakeholders in town to form the committee including, “The borough schools, library, Lunchbreak, the Red Bank Affordable Housing Corporation, JBJ Soul Kitchen, HABcore, the Leagur of Women Voters and the Red Bank Family Y.”

The council adopted two bond ordinances, the first in the amount of $180,000 which is a shared services agreement with the Special Improvement District/Red Bank RiverCenter. To read that ordinance, click HERE.
The second bond was in the amount $3,221,000 for parking improvements. To read that ordinance, click HERE. “This is all being paid for by the parking utility fund and not from the general fund," said Mayor Pat Menna.
The council passed a resolution to authorize one-time stipends in the amount of $10,500 for Red Bank Fire Chiefs. To read this resolution, click HERE.
And the best was saved for last.
Upon final approval by the Special Events Committee, the council approved a request from Navesink Vintage Race Boat Association to hold the Red Bank Vintage Boat Race Regatta at Marine Park on June 5th, 6th, and 7th, 2020 from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
