RED BANK, NJ: Winds could gust at up to 60 mph and thunderstorms could produce heavy rainfall Monday, the National Weather Service predicted Sunday night.

A high-wind warning will be in effect from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, the National Weather Service announced. Widespread power outages are expected, it said.

“Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Even sturdy and well-secured tent structures could be damaged. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles,” the weather service said.

“People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches,” the National Weather Service said. “If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.”
