They gathered on a two mile stretch of Bayshore beach. A beach that was the go to spot for earlier generations and is still free to the public. A hidden gem of a clean beach that gives you beautiful sunsets every night. This was their gridiron on Saturday morning.
VIDEO - Hear from Cliff Moore, describing the day and the renaissance in Keansburg:
Donning shirts emblazoned with all of their logos, courtesy of BCB Bayshore - Your Community Bank, they all became one team. After a rousing speech by Cliff Moore, the Keansburg Economic Development Director, away they went to clean the beach as one Bayshore Team:
It is a simple concept - "Opponents on the Gridiron and Teammates on the Bay". The teams that learned many lessons on the field brought the lesson of teamwork and progress home to the Bayshore area. Stated Moore, "It's a great day - players came - they're going through the beach they'll help clean it up. This is something that is fantastic - not just for Keansburg but the entire Bayshore area - its about bringing people into the community and doing things. Keansburg, with the amusement park, with the water park and everybody coming in here. This is a fantastic place to bring a young family. It's a bay. It's great for young children. We've also got some great restaurants and great businesses."
Moore encouraged any business looking for a great location to reach out to the Economic Community Development office for more information.
The 300 football players and the community had a great day, enjoying sunny May weather and ensuring a beautiful, clean beach for all to enjoy. For more information on BCB Bank, click here.
