RED BANK, NJ: The Navesink Maritime Association will be offering a free presentation to discuss installing a solar system in your home.

Rik van Hemmen will be describing his recent experiences with installing and managing a solar system at his home.

Rik attended a NJ Economic Development Agency conference where a state solar expert told him, “If you can fit roof top solar, you would be crazy not to do it.”

van Hemmen, who  has had a solar system on his roof for over two years, will talk about sustainable energy plus, providing practical tips from an owner’s point of view with regard to purchasing and operating a roof top solar system.

When: Wednesday, February 12th, 7:30pm for coffee & cookies, 8:00pm presentation

Where: Bahrs Landing Restaurant, 2 Bay Avenue, Highlands, NJ.  Come early to Bahrs and enjoy a drink and snack at the bar or a meal in the restaurant

This is a free event, all are welcome.

Rik van Hemmen is President of Martin Ottaway, van Hemmen & Dolon, Inc., a Red Bank based maritime engineering firm that specializes in the technical, economic, and operational resolution of marine disasters worldwide.  Rik is a third generation maritime engineer who moved with his family to the Red Bank area in 1976.  Rik is also a co-founder and current President of Navesink Maritime Heritage Association.
