RED BANK, NJ – Ptl. Francesco Metta of the Red Bank Police Department stopped a vehicle after midnight on August 22nd for traffic violations.
A seach of the vehicle turned up a significant amount of drugs including marijuana and cocaine.
The driver, Nicholas Brown, 42 years old, of New Brunswick was arrested and charged with numerous violations including possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, and within 500 feet of a park.
Hidden in the the vehicle was a substantial amount of cash.
Brown was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution and his vehicle and cash were forfeited.
"This was a good example of a newer patrol officer utilizing his training and going beyond the typical traffic stop. Good police work," said Chief Darren McConnell.
