ELIZABETH, NJ - It’s that time of year again when the Rotary Club of Elizabeth hosts their annual “Taste of Elizabeth” event where businesses from all over Union County and beyond come out to show off their culinary talents.
This year the Rotary Club of Elizabeth is celebrating its 102nd year of service to the Greater Elizabeth Community, and club officials say they are proud to continue to feature its unique annual food-tasting event. The “Taste of Elizabeth” will take place this year on Monday, October 28, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Hotel, 1000 Spring Street, in Elizabeth.
“We are bringing back our most popular vendors and adding new ones all the time,” according to Rotarian Ken Richuso.
Making their debuts this year are:
- Cubachon, Elizabeth
- Dozen Roses Wines, Bergenfield
- Pita Shack, Union
- Portugal Express, Elizabeth
- The Tavern at Ashbrook, Scotch Plains
- The brand new El Nacho’s Tequila Cantina, Elizabeth
These new participants will join the following returning vendors:

To have so many tempting selections all in one location, on one night, is truly outstanding.” He added, “The best part is the fact that all profits from the event are given to area charities by the Rotary Club of Elizabeth.”
During Taste of Elizabeth XIIl, guests will also be able to participate in a 50/50 raffle and a Tricky Tray silent auction. Funds raised from the event will enable the Rotary Club to continue to provide financial grants to local non-profit agencies and to provide college scholarships through the Albert & Louise Davis Scholarship Fund of the Rotary Club of Elizabeth, Inc. Since its founding in 1986, the Davis Fund has provided a total of $608,000 in scholarships to 338 students.
