ROSELLE, NJ - Students at Abraham Clark High School and Senior Citizens of Roselle came together on Thursday at the school for the 15th Annual “Intergenerational Day”.
Students entertained the senior citizens through with a full schedule of events starting in the auditorium with the schools JROTC Color Guard presenting the colors and leading the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by the National Anthem, performed by the Concert Choir and speakers, Principal Rashon Mickens and Interim School Superintendent, Dr. Richard Corbett.
Entertainment was provided by the JROTC Lady Devil Dogs performing an Exhibition Drill under direction of Colonel James Sfayer & Major David Alito. Next up was a performance by the schools Drama Club performing a scene from one of their plays, “The Election” under the direction of Samantha Santangelo, Advisor.
The Concert Choir, under the direction of Marcus Daniels, Chorus Director, also performed a few songs, followed by musical selections by the ACHS Band, under the direction of Willam Arnold, Concert Band Advisor.
After a morning of entertainment, the seniors were treated to an “International Buffet Luncheon” prepared by the Family and Consumer students, under the direction of Josh Murrell, Culinary Arts Instructor.
“Angels of Mercy” Health Occupation students were offering blood pressure testing for the guests, and the day rounded out with the students mingling with the seniors and raffle prizes.
