RAHWAY, NJ - Abraham Clark High School held its 2018 commencement exercises at the Union County Performing Arts Center in Rahway on Thursday evening, June 21.
One hundred and eighty-six seniors crossed the stage to receive their diplomas and were congratulated by Principal Rashon Mickens, President of Roselle Board of Education Ms. Patricia Fabrizio, Superintendent of School Dr. Richard Corbett, Board of Education members. Mayor Christine Dansereau, and Borough Council members.
This year's student speakers included Class President - Ifeoluwa Awoleye, Valedictorian - Naika Baptiste and Salutatorian - Gercy Sorto. Mayor Christine Dansereau, was the Keynote Speaker, for the ceremony.
“Plan for tomorrow, but live in the moment,” Mayor Dansereau told the seniors. “Enjoy the moments now so you can look back at them later on and remember how you felt on this day.”
Near the end of the event, some of the students performed the schools “RAM Fight Song” that is usually sung by the a cappella group, but for the event, they gave it a new twist.
