ROSELLE, NJ - Abraham Clark High School student Shaquil Jones was presented with a scholarship this month by Roselle resident, Walter Wimbush, with the Walter Wimbush Scholarship Award.

Jones will be attending Pace University this upcoming semester, majoring in Computer Science. He also will be playing Defensive End out on the football field on June 26, in the NJ North South Game. 

“I would like to say thank you to everyone that supports the the Walter Wimbush Scholarship Program and all fundraising events,” said Wimbush. “It is better to give than to receive, and I am working to help build in the Roselle community.”

Wimbush has worked extensively in the community partnering with Fireman, Wendell Williams and B.O.E. member Arthur Rice, to start a mentoring program called the Roselle Big Brother Program, with Wimbush as President of the program he promoted a strong mission statement of guidance, mentoring and to assist young men in achieving their highest potential.

Wimbush is currently employed by the Borough of Roselle in the Code Enforcement department. He is also a very active member of the Roselle Acacia lodge #23 Prince Hall, and accepted Masons.
