ROSELLE PARK, NJ - Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Family Dollar on Westfield Avenue in Roselle Park on Monday morning.

Upon arrival officers found that the suspect had fled on foot with approximately $300 in cash and was in possession of a black semi-automatic handgun. The suspect was described as a male in his 20s, approximately 5-foot-7, medium build, wearing a black jacket and hood.

Soon after, Officers located a male walking on the 100 block of Chestnut Street who fit the description. Jamaal Parham, 21 years old, from Elizabeth, was identified and was found in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, marijuana, along with several hollow point bullets. A further search revealed proceeds from the robbery and a loaded 40-caliber handgun.

Parham was arrested without incident and charged with, 1st degree Armed Robbery, 2nd degree Unlawful possession of a weapon, 2nd degree Possession of a weapon for unlawful possession, 3rd degree Terroristic threats, 3rd degree Theft, 4th degree Aggravated assault, 4th degree Possession of hollow point bullets, D.P. Possession of CDS marijuana.
Parham was lodged into the Union County Jail on $150,000 bail.
