ROSELLE PARK, NJ — Roselle Park Mayor Joe Signorello III announced on Facebook that Bender Avenue would be completely blocked off on Halloween.
Roselle Park is taking these precautions because of the recent uptick in COVID cases across the state and in Union County. The mayor also said that the borough has received concerns from the residents of Bender Avenue regarding the potential crowd sizes on Halloween this year.
“I don’t think we can safely, on a relatively small street, fit 5,000 people and adhere to social safety and social distancing requirements set forth by the Governor,” Mayor Signorello said to residents.
Halloween has not been canceled in Roselle Park and trick-or-treating is still on in other parts of the town.
Mayor Signorello encouraged Roselle Parkers to safely celebrate Halloween this year and revealed that he would also be dressing up this year.
