ROSELLE PARK, NJ - A bicycle auction held on Friday morning at the Roselle Park Municipal Complex parking lot, had many people getting great bargains and some buyers rolling away with more than one bike.

Roselle Park police auctioned off thirty-eight bicycles that were abandoned or turn into the department through out the year. Mayor Carl Hokanson, Councilman William Fahoury and members of the police department were on hand to run the event. All bids started at  $1.00 and went up. One particular bike created a bidding war and sold for $60.00.

All but three of the bikes up for auction sold, raising approximately $327.00. Officers also gave away free bike helmets to anyone who did not have one. Officials said, the event is held every year in the late spring or summer.
