This week I got a piece of mail about my Assemblymembers Jon Bramnick and Nancy Munoz. It says that they voted against a property tax freeze for seniors.
I was very skeptical at first because Republicans are usually in favor of lower taxes. But the mail had a place where you can go to see their votes. After doing my research, I found that they did indeed vote against the property tax freeze for seniors.
I have to say that I was both shocked and disappointed. I’ve lived in my home for 53 years, and I want to be able to afford to stay there. My friends all say they’re concerned as well about how expensive it is to retire here, and they don’t know if they will be able to afford to stay in their homes.
It seems that seniors can’t count on Bramnick and Munoz to help us stay in our homes. Perhaps it’s time for new representatives who will.
