WESTFIELD, NJ — One car was in flames Thursday after a rush-hour accident at East Dudley Avenue and Elm Street. The cause of the two-car crash is under investigation by Westfield police.
Westfield firefighters got the call at 5:22 p.m. and were on the scene in three minutes, according to the officials. The fire was declared “under control” at 5:47 p.m.
Only one minor injury was reported, with one person complaining of back pain from the crash. He was treated on the scene by the Westfield Volunteer Rescue Squad and released, according to the fire department.
Exactly what caused the car to catch fire had not been determined.
