WESTFIELD, NJ — Jon Rincom of Roselle was looking to burglarize a home in Westfield on April 12, when cops arrested him and charged him in connection with two past Westfield home burglaries, according to Westfield Police.
Plainclothes officers in undercover cars were monitoring the area proactively under the direction of Westfield Police Chief David Wayman, according to Sgt. Michael Walsh. At the time of his arrest, Rincom had in his possession burglary tools, brass knuckles, a mask and a firearm, Walsh said.
“The Westfield Police recovered currency and over 40 pieces of jewelry from the individual, including gold and diamonds,” Walsh said.
Rincom was charged with two counts of third degree burglary in connection with two home burglaries in Westfield and transported to Union County Jail. Rincom also had an ICE detainer, Walsh said.
“At this time, other towns are looking into the individual as a possible suspect for burglaries in their jurisdictions,” Walsh said.
