ELIZABETH, NJ – What could be better on a beautiful, balmy summer night than an outdoor movie?
The Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders Family Fun & Flix is offering just that, a free summer entertainment and film series. On Tuesday, July 21 Dolphin Tale 2, sponsored by Investors Bank, will be shown in Warinanco Park. On Tuesday, July 28, it’s a presentation of Big Hero 6 at Warinanco Park.
Dolphin Tale 2 is an animated family drama, starring the voice of Morgan Freeman. It continues the story of rescued dolphin Winter, as the team that saved her life reassembles in the wake of her surrogate mother’s passing in order to find her a companion so she can remain at the Clearwater Marine Hospital.
Big Hero 6 is an animated action adventure produced by the Walt Disney Studios. It’s the story of a special bond that develops between a plus-sized inflatable robot named Baymax, and prodigy Hiro Hamada, who team up with a group of friends to form a band of high-tech heroes.
As part of the evening’s events, UC Fit Kids, a health initiative of the Union County Freeholder Board, will offer fitness fun for children before the movie, beginning at 7:30 p.m. UC Fit Kids’ Yoga is presented by Lifetime Fitness of Berkeley Heights.
“Family Fun & Flix gives families the opportunity to visit our parks and enjoy a free movie and to also participate in activities that promote healthy habits for our children,” said Union County Freeholder Chairman Mohamed S. Jalloh.
All movies will begin at dusk, with everyone encouraged to bring a blanket or beach chair to claim your spot on the lawn. There will also be bleacher seats available.
