WESTFIELD, NJ — Firefighters brought a blaze at a two-story house at 734 Rahway Ave. under control Friday evening. According to the Westfield Fire Department, there were no injuries to the home’s tenants or to firefighters. The fire appeared to be in the upper part of the house. 

The Westfield Fire Department got the call at about 8:15 p.m. and, after arriving on scene, called for mutual aid. Companies from Cranford, Roselle and Rahway arrived on the scene to fight the fire while Scotch Plains, Mountainside and Garwood fire departments helped cover the Westfield station.

The blaze was under control by 9:10 p.m., according to the Westfield Fire Department.
