ROSELLE, NJ - Girl Scouts builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. On Sunday, May 31st, hosted #HashtagLunchBag, a fun and exciting community service that lives up to the Girl Scout mission. The event took place at Lun Wah Restaurant in Roselle, NJ.
#HashtagLunchbag is a movement dedicated to creating fun environments to bring together diverse groups of people to focus on giving back to our local community by making lunch bags with special messages to give out to those that are less fortunate. The lunch bags included a turkey and cheese sandwich, a snack, fruit, and water.
Local organizations participating were the Princess Foundation, Gamma Omicron Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and members from the Roselle Community.
“This was an excellent, fun and exciting way for the entire community come together to give back to our communities.” said Roselle Girl Scouts Service Unit Manager, Naima Ricks. "Teamwork makes the dreamwork! Together we made approximately 300 lunch bags that were given to a YMCA shelter in Elizabeth and at Newark Penn Station."
