ELIZABETH, NJ - Hundreds yesterday came to the final night of the 10th annual Peterstown Festival for Italian food, games, music and more.

The four-day festival, which is also known as the Festa Di San Vito, is organized by the Frank O. Mazza Civic Association, a non-profit organization that promotes well-being throughout the community. Vito Mazza, who is 6th Ward Councilman Frank Mazza's son, served as festival chairman.

A procession of the statue of Saint Vito and a special mass at Saint Anthony of Padua Church took place in June. The festival's name includes Peterstown, which is a name for the neighborhood that has Italian roots.

Although the four-block festival on High Street is in its tenth year, the traditional procession has taken place in Elizabeth for 49 years, Vito Mazza said.
