LINDEN, NJ – Morning Star Community Christian Center held its “first ever” Scam, Fraud and 2020 Census Information Session.
Morning Star Community Relations Ministry invited a panel of experts “who know a thing or two…because they’ve seen a thing or two!” The panelists consisted of:
- John Breyault, VP National Consumers League, Washington DC who recently appeared on The Dr. Oz show speaking about the wide range of scam and fraud activity.
- Christie Zampella, Vice President, Business Solutions/Security Manager, Northfield Bank.
- Lorraine Brooks-Brody, Roselle Census Committee Liaison and President of the Urban League of Union County Guild and board member.
The informational session was conducted in a Q&A format. Church and community members were encouraged to ask questions and hear directly from the panelist. The panelist provided information and tools on how to handle money scam/fraud activity, banking scams, robo-calls, free gifts, Internet and social media fraud/cyber criminals, IRS scams, Social Security scams, catfish scams, 2020 Census dis-information and much more! “What a powerful and informative event,” remarked Mayor Derek Armstead of Linden, and Mayor Christine Dansereau of Roselle!
